Gowganda Tillite

The Pudding Stone is a very colorful stone.  This version of the Pudding stone is over 3.5 billion years old and is the oldest Pudding, that we are aware of.  This Pudding is called the Gowganda Tillite and it consists of a muddy matrix and gets its color from white and pink granite.  The Pudding Stone was transported to Michigan when glaciers were formed during the Ice Age. Pudding stones can be found inland and on any shoreline, in the state of Michigan.
